Attend & See Things You’ve Always Wanted To…

As we continue to endure the restrictions of this horrible global pandemic, we are trying to behave sensibly and stay inside, isolated, as much as possible to reduce the effect of unwittingly getting or passing on the virus, to help, I look for more and more ways to experience new and interesting things and spend my time with something to look forward to rather than Coronation Street.

A quick google search for “free events online” throws up a few and this month I thought we would have a look at some of those that are available.

www.eventbrite.com/d/online/free–events – this great website lists 100’s of free events that you can filter by format, category and even language. Things like workout classes, Monthly wellness sessions, and even drawing classes. All available from the comfort of your cocooned home and aimed at keeping your mind and body active and well away from the risk of the virus.

www.list.co.uk/event – is a traditional event website. It is designed to show you events available local to you or another location, however it now has a large amount of free virtual events listed on it. Things like the London Symphony Orchestra: Space … but not as we know it, and others are available free throughout February. Remember to click the box “online events” to see those that are available via streaming services.

www.spotify.com/uk – if you like to listen to music then Spotify is a great free resource, you can even grab the skill for it if you have an Amazon Alexa so that you can play through her. Spotify has 1000’s of different types of music, you are bound to find something to suit your taste.

https://fantasticforfamilies.com/online-events – this one is more for those with kids. It focuses on online events for families, things like Creative Comics on the 2nd Feb, a workshop in comic book illustration or Digital Music Production where you can learn how to create your own tracks. This site has a filter section at the top of the page where you can select only free events and specific dates which makes searching through its content a little easier.

Whatever you decide to do, I do hope that you stay safe and protect yourselves and those around you. Hopefully together we can get back to some sort of normality sooner rather than later this year.
