Bob wanted to stop his computer from locking his screen every time the screen saver came on

Q. Hi Richard, first of all a big thank you for all the help and advice you give us at the computer club.  My query is hopefully a simple one (for you!).  For the last couple of months whenever I bring the computer back from screen saver it says ‘locked’ and I have to click on the square in the centre of the screen and it then comes on properly.  What has altered and how do I get it back to normal?  Looking forward to your advice.

A. Hi Bob, to stop your computer locking your screen when you exit from the screen saver just do the following.

  1. Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Screen Saver.
  2. Remove the tick from the On resume, display logon screen check box and then click Apply.
