Ever Thought Of Donating Your Organs?

I’ll grant you, it’s not something that you would usually find on my pages, but because it involves using the Internet to register, I’m claiming it as something that I can write about!

I guess it’s not something that we like to think about much but if we can help people before or after our demise then that’s a good thing in my opinion. Read this entire article »

Update your SIP Card with key information from home…

As I am sure you are all aware the SIP card is used to get medical services here in Spain. The SIP card comes in a few different styles, but all do the same thing. As I understand it, your local medical centre will contact you using the phone number registered with your SIP card to arrange for your attendance for the COVID-19 vaccine. If your phone number is out of date or incorrect then they will not be able to contact you as easily. Thankfully its straight forward to ensure your correct details are registered to your SIP card without the hassle of booking an appointment at the health centre to get them to do it – you can do it all from the comfort of your own Internet connection. We all (well most of us anyway) use social media and Google and increasingly we will see adverts appear in our search results or timeline. Attend & See Things You’ve Always Wanted To…

As we continue to endure the restrictions of this horrible global pandemic, we are trying to behave sensibly and stay inside, isolated, as much as possible to reduce the effect of unwittingly getting or passing on the virus, to help, I look for more and more ways to experience new and interesting things and spend my time with something to look forward to rather than Coronation Street. Start the New Year with a new bank account…

Recently I’ve been worrying a little about bank accounts. I’ve never really had any concerns over these everyday items, my concerns have only been about how little money seems to be in my account! I’ve started to see news articles about how Brexit will or has already begun to the UK banking system and individual bank’s abilities to continue to support people like me who live in Europe, I’ve read stories of some poor people who have had to arrange new bank accounts because the accounts that they’ve used all of their lives are now no longer available to them because they chose to live or retire in a different country. Something for the weekend sir?…

I’ve been writing to you on these pages for a little over 7 years now – yes, I know and you’re still here reading them! Either I’m doing something interesting or you guys need to get out a lot more! Talking about “getting out”, this is not always easy in this new socially distanced world that we find ourselves in at the moment, is it? I am not sure what the answer is, but I hope it happens sooner rather than later. Read this entire article »

More Smart Devices to Protect Your Home…

We’ve covered a few devices over the years here that are both smart and help automate or protect your home in some way; things like the Amazon Alexa voice operated assistant that you can use to turn lights on and off, ask questions, play music, tell you translated words, make timers and remind you of things amongst many other gadgets. We’ve also looked at home security cameras that will send messages to your mobile or tablet when they “see” movement. If you missed them you can read more here… Read this entire article »

Are You A List Maker?

I love lists! I love that they help organise me when I’ve lots to get done, I love that they help me see what needs to be prioritised and whether tasks can be outsourced to upper management (the missis!) or have to be done by me. I also, as you well know, love technology! Read this entire article »

Want an alternative web browser?

I have always recommended Google Chrome to my customers as my web browser of choice, it’s always been good to me, I find it reliable, quick and has the flexibility of allowing me to add extensions to do additional tasks that I find helpful – like when I open a new tab I use an extension to automatically get the new tab to open my default home page.
